The rest of June

 True and Shilo were in their dance recital.

 Shilo has had Miss Lorna for 6 years, so when True started with her, she asked if Shilo would like to come in and help each morning. Shilo was thrilled to be needed! And she did so well with the little ones.

 They are getting ready for the show!  So tiny and cute!

And True was the only boy!

 Man oh man! I've become a big mushy mess...yikes!

 One of the little girls didn't show up so Miss Lorna asked Shilo to be on the stage so everyone had a partner:)

 Lorna was excited to order a little boy costume, she hadn't in a long time. And True still likes to wear it around!

 After the show people came up to us and said True stole the show! And he really did! I was in tears. He was just priceless to watch.

 Shilo gets her own part each year. Everyone else partners up and Shilo does something in the front.

 Next Shilo had a school performance that was fun to watch.

 Our friends came from Alaska and we had Pizza Bank for dinner and a wonderful visit!

I wish we lived closer, we have so much in common. On going house projects, cute, well behaved kids, chickens, dogs oh my! 

{guess it's our turn to visit them in Alaska!}

 Monica graduated from college as a teacher!

I'm so proud of her, she worked really hard and is going to be a fabulous teacher!

I gave her this subway art for her classroom.

 We had her graduation celebration at Lunch box Labratory. Love it there!

 Shilo moved up from her brownie class to full blown girl scout!

 I have to mark that I'm so proud of True. When I'm busy and no one is here to play with him, he will happily head out back and entertain himself for long periods of time.

 hes found a stick and was making up a big story to go with it.:)

 He makes me smile.

Chastin had a nice concert.

I love that his teacher does a real low key deal where the kids play 3 songs, it's in the cafeteria and it's short but sweet. Plus his teacher is funny!

He's a really good teacher.

Bahamas Day 7

 One of those giant yachts heading into the bliss of the ocean.

 Straw market has so many bags to choose from!

 The islands are famous for their rum cakes.

 Had to get my fix of fried plantains before I left.

 All things made from straw. Even the folder your bill comes in.

So peaceful.

Bahamas Day6

 While eating breakfast at the buffet in the morning, it started to rain. Hard!

People stayed at the beach and we slowly ate to wait out the tropical storm. it was so pretty and warm.

 I love all the flags outside the hotel.

 John said this was the perfect store for me:) Love all the white.

 This tree at the hotel was so cool. It had long stringy branches that hung from it. We saw one of these in Oahu and it's almost magical.

Wouldn't mind having these flowers growing in my yard. 

 The walk to the restaurant was so nice.

 Would love to have our Christmas card pictures taken in front of this building... 

 So cool. Our capital doesn't look like this:)

So while floating around in the ocean, we were talking about where we would go to dinner for Johns birthday. A couple in their 50's told us about Cafe Matisse. They said it was the nicest restaurant on the island. A little pricey, but worth it. So we though ' we're just about senior frogs out, and it's Johns birthday, what the heck!

 It was a nice little walk through the off beaten path so we were able to enjoy some nice  new sights. We had to check the menu first to be sure there was something on the menu for John to eat. {he's not a big fancy food fan like I am} the owner came out and said that if he didn't find something that appealed to him, the chef would create something. I was SOLD!

 We started out with bruschetta. Never had it before. It was soooo good. I ate mine, then Johns then our own personal waiter saw that I was out and brought MORE! I could have just eaten just that. I'm glad I didn't because man oh man was this food ever delicious!

next we got a plate of pancetta with fresh goat cheese and arugula. I've once again, never had pancetta, and it was delightful! And once again, I ate mine, then Johns leftovers:) Give me good food and I can find room! And our main course hadn't even come yet!

Happy Birthday Boo! I had a blast!

I ordered fresh handmade pasta with a crab marinara and fresh basil and tomatoes. To die for!

John had a handcrafted Italian pizza.

I should tell you that the owner takes great pride in his restaurant and it shows. His is a native to the Bahamas {which we asked about because he didn't look like a native. But his dad moved the the Bahamas when he was a kid and he stayed. As would I, given the chance. } SO any way, he decided the Bahamas needed an Italian restaurant, so he found the best chef he could in ITALY and talked him into moving to the Bahamas and being the chef and the creative mind behind the recipes.And there you have it. One of the very BEST places I've ever had the privilege to enjoy.

After eating everything but the table cloth I persuaded myself to order dessert. Why not right?

He had me at homemade, fully from scratch, even the lady fingers! Tiramisu.

Absolutely the best!

{ Had it been kosher, I would have licked my bowl and asked to be rolled back to my hotel}

John got an espresso. Is that even dessert?

The sugar packets at the table sum it up the best.

Our stroll back was beautiful.

The last night of proms..

Loved his linen pants and shiny silver Toms.

After watching the last prom cars roll in I headed to the beach to enjoy the crashing waves, the cruise ship laughter and my last night of relaxation.
