TREASURES

Two weekends running John and I have been out rummaging! What fun! Two weeks ago it was a sale at a church, where I picked up a funky metal wall hanging that resembles an
apple tree, Ikea curtains new in the package for .25! A whole set of green glass goblets in varying sizes, a glass carafe for our coins, and our most amazing find: a totally shabby chic chandelier! Story behind the light; it was patiently sitting in the holding area waiting for it's soon to be owner to come back to pay for it, when along came John.. Knowing how much I wanted a light of this kind he pointed it out, unfortunately it was already spoken for, or so we thought:) The waiting table has a half hour limit on it, one of the men working the sale said that it had been there for quite some time but to be fair we should give it another 30min. So we wandered, with one of us keeping a watchful eye on my treasure the whole time. The scene was like something out of mission impossible- eye contact, check time, check lamp, scope people out, check time again...Poor John kept saying "It's only been another 30 seconds!" He was probably kicking himself for pointing it out! 30min. to the second past and the light was mine!!(ours) I scooped it up and headed for the cashier, who said that I looked elated, and I was! Imagine my surprise when I got it home and it even worked! And all of this joy for the fabulous price of $2.00!Last weekend we hit the Lake city flea market. John had never been to this one so he had no idea what to expect. I hit the white milk glass mother load! Since I was in high school I have had a thing for this typically simple antique. My grandmother used to have a small collection of it in her glass cabinet, and I always admired how clean it looked, so pretty without even trying...Anyway I was able to add to my growing collection with a few pieces I have never seen before. I bought a new lamp, some vases and a few odds and ends. The next rummage sale that I know of is at Kellogg Middle school March 10th, 9:00am for any of you who are junkies like myself. I am looking forward to the Puget Park flea market opening the first of April. I'll be updating you on my treasures for those of you who are curious. Happy hunting!

Goodbye Williams Family
The Williams family recently moved to Utah where her husband got a job.We used to swap date night babysitting and baby gear.A neighbor of theirs had a small farewell gathering for them , it was the during all the snow. So we braved the weather, parked at the top of her street that was closed and slid our way to the party. Alex actually managed to slide under a truck that was stuck in the telephone wires and take Chastin down with him! The road was a solid sheet of ice!At one point I actually pulled Alex's hair to keep from falling! Poor kid! We were actually laughing so hard that I thought we were just going to end up playing around outside and never make it to the party.. Jordan, being the beauty queen that she is, decided to put fashion before practicability and wore ballet slipper shoes
to conquer the hill! (against her fathers advice!) She also was put in charge of carrying my new camera, which she wore around her neck to keep it safe. She kept slipping and yelling "sacrifice the body for the camera!" That alone had her father busting up because that is his phrase form Ultimate Fighting. Alex was in charge of Shilo which he promptly let go of and she slid on her butt down the hill, guess who had to go retrieve her? Needless to say, I held her hand and the bag of chips. John had to carry what I thought would be a good idea to bring to the party, a crock pot with dip in it!
Well as you can see we won the fight with the hill and made it to the party.. And I think that the pictures were worth it! We miss the Williams family A LOT! Her e-mails say that they are doing well and that everyone is adjusting o.k.

Our little Ballerina

Shilo has taken an interest in dancing recently so I did the unimaginable for me and made the commitment to dance class every Friday. She Loves it! Parents can watch through a wall of windows as not to disturb the tiny dancers, well since I don't like crowds I hit the track! Baby weight be gone! When I come back to get her she says "I can't wait till dance class!" How sweet is that! There are about a dozen two and three year old's prancing around in ballet slippers and leotards. They are such care free little spirits, I envy them...To top it all off she even has a dance recital on our anniversary, June 9th, what a gift!
