san fran 07

Last Summer we went to California- my home state

We decided to hit San Francisco on the way home
None of us had ever been, so it was a new adventure for everyone
Well, i am in LOVE with this place! I can see myself living there one day, and then i'll move to my ranch in Montana to recover from the city.
If you have never been- might i suggest it!

A sign we have no idea about- we used it as a stop sign???

things you might never see
the main park, where you see Alcatraz
cool bench in town w/ 3 of 4
seals in the bay

We ate at the ghiradelli chocolate factory, roamed the pier, went to fishermans wharf & stopped in all the little shops for treasures! the kids all got SF shirts, chastin got a bobble head to add to his collection, al got a ski hat to add to his collection of them, jordan found a charm for her bracelet, and shilo was happy to find a stuffed animal to her liking.

John & I can't wait to get back there ...
So i think i'll stop working on this and plan us a weekend getaway...maybe for our anniversary?

the confident cut

jordan has wanted her hair cut for a while and today we were able to get it done {not by me this time- but by one of the way cool dads i work for}
last weekend jordan asked me how i can feel confident with changing my hair color & cut all the time
to be honest, she took me by surprise because confident would not be a word i would use to describe myself...not ever
so i told her if she had confidence in her self, others would follow suit, and to do what she feels is best for her
the before

and after

so she followed my advice and didn't worry about kids at school and what they thought... and i am very proud of her.. { plus i think she might have come up with this hair cut on her own}

from the back
so i thought i would post her new do - normally she will spike it up in the back for depth, but i took this right before bed, and she had already showered

i love my life

and i LOVE my husband
happy valentines day to my sweet heart
torrie-
i'm not looking for love
for now, something more
a friend and companion
to flirt with adore
not by destiny or chance
are relationships formed
but through laughter and fun
two hearts can be warmed
seeing you from a distance
be it great, or very near
my heart races so fast
excitement or fear
a beautiful girl
just happend along
coincidence? chance?
we build something strong
a jump start of my heart
has just been received

shilo mae

usually i don't leave a blog post that long but i thought the comment from my cute husband was sooo funny that i wanted to give everyone a chance to read it

so just a quick note on how funny my little girl is...
  • there is a picture of shilo and i at her friend rachels birthday party a year ago or so on the fridge- shilo says"you look skinny" i said "then- or now?" and she says "both!" sweet girl!( maybe me telling you about this will make sarah, rachels mom, who reads my blog and doesn't leave any comments- leave a comment!!!!!!)
  • yesterday in the car- while in the pouring rain shilo says "it looks like were driving in a glass of water" so true...
  • a lady standing at the corner in ballard- while waiting at the light- says "you are georgeous!"{ to shilo of course} shilo replies "thanks for noticing... "what a crack up!
  • last week she tells a little boy in the store who is pitching a fit about leaving without getting something "you should learn patience" then turns to me and says "right mom? i think the mom was more embarassed than i- afterall, it was her child making the scene...and shilo was right...
  • she tells chastin- while doing puzzles with him- "that's a bunch of nonsense chastin"

when did she start paying attention to the world and everything around her? she makes me smile, she makes my heart swell with joy, and my belly ache with laughter.

btw- here new favorite word she calls every one is a SNOG HEAD.

don't know where it came from, but we all think it's hilarious!

and a LOOFAH is a SOFA...what a funny bunny
