Dr. Seuss & The Mormon Women

To all my mormon friends out there! And to those who are not! I am sure you all will find this quite funny! Be sure to read it in a sing songy dr. seuss sort of a way.
I found this on one of the Farm Chicks vendor blogs and thougt it was great! So i read it to john and we had a good laugh, and now i hope you do too!

'The Girl in a Whirl by Dr. Sue' (aka Vickie Gunther)
Look at me, look at me,
look at me now!
You could do what I do if you only knew how.
I study the scriptures one hour each day;
I bake, I upholster, I scrub, and I pray.
I always keep all the commandments completely;
I speak to my little ones gently and sweetly.
I help in their classrooms!
I sew all they wear!
I drive them to practice!
I cut all their hair!
I memorize names of the General Authorities;
I focus on things to be done by priorities.
I play the piano!
I bless with my talents!
My toilets all sparkle!
My checkbooks all balance!
Each week every child gets a one-on-one date;
I attend all my meetings
(on time! never late!)
I'm taking a class on the teachings of Paul,
But that is not all! Oh, no. That is not all,
I track my bad habits 'til each is abolished;
Our t-shirts are ironed!
My toenails are polished!
Our family home evenings
are always delightful;
The lessons I give are both
fun and insightful.
I do geneology faithfully, too.
It's easy to do all the things that I do!
I rise each day early,
refreshed and awake;
I know all the names of each youth in my stake!
I read to my children!
I help all my neighbors!
I bless the community, too,
with my labors.
I exercise and I cook menus gourmet;
My visiting teaching is done the first day!
(I also go do it for someone who misses hers.
It's the least I can do for my cherished ward sisters.)
I chart resolutions and check off each goal;
I seek each 'lost lamb' on my Primary role.
I can home-grown produce
each summer and fall.
But that is not all!
Oh, no. That is not all,
I write in my journal!
I sing in the choir!
Each day, I write 'thank you's'
to those I admire.
My sons were all Eagles
when they were 14!
My kids get straight A's!
And their bedrooms are clean!
I have a home business to
help make some money;
I always look beautifully
groomed for my honey.
I go to the temple at least once a week;
I change the car's tires!
I fix the sink's leak!
I grind my own wheat and
I bake all our bread;
I have our meals planned
out six months ahead.
I make sure I rotate our
two years supply;
My shopping for Christmas
is done by July!
These things are not hard;
tis good if you do them;
You can if you try!
Just set goals and pursue them!
It's easy to do all the
things that I do!
If you plan and work smart,
you can do them all, too!
'It's easy!' she said
and then she dropped dead.
David B. Marsh used it at Women's Conference
so you might have heard it before, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

boiling mad!

So this post my seem vain to some of you-
so i am asking you not to judge me!

I have a BOIL! On my face of all places!!!!
My friends who know what i went through in the last couple of days will understand-
{and thanks to those of you who called me and showed me they love and care for me, i'm REALLY lucky to have you! you took the time to care and call, and listen, thanks a ton! but i'm really o.k -now...}

I get this stupid boil when slammed with severe stress, and just last night it occurred to me that i got this thing right around the time i met my husbands ex- wife! funny huh?

i'm heading to the dr. 1st thing mon. morning, probably for antibiotics, lucky girl i am!

so for those of you who think you will be sneaky and stop over to see me, i will be hiding in my room with a mask on, so don't even bother trying to see it!!!!

Here comes the vain part..

I won't be coming out in the light of day or anywhere public till it doesn't appear as though i have a second head any longer! So there you have it! the joys of having your very own nightmare of an ex wife! lucky, lucky, lucky.. i know you wish you had one too!:)

So from that movie " how to lose a guy in ten days" where she shows him the photo album she photo shopped of the family they will have one day, and the kids look scary, and matthew says " our kids are ATTRACTIVE", that's my sweet husbands way of making me laugh at this thing. He'll look at me and say " i love you honey, you look ATTRACTIVE!" and we both bust up!! i'm glad one of us can have a sense of humor right now!

Now how to give him the boil .......

The Gear

So my order from Pine Cone Press just arrived and now I have to come up with some cool make 'n takes for the Scrappin' Friendzy in April. there are so many cool products out there, I had a hard time picking which ones to order! what fun! I am so excited to play with these!

So far I think I will do a Scrabble Letter Tiles Card, and print the pictures right off the Canon Selphy CP 720 I bought Jordan for Christmas {it's a compact photo printer} and a Gift box with some felt embellishments on it not real sure of what the box will be for yet.

I've been reading the catalogs the different paper / product companies have been sending me and checking out some cool web sites trying to find something 'out of the box' that was asked of me, so far i think it's going o.k.

Next months class for our Church scrap class will be ABC's with paper lunch sacks,

And the next Ballard Camera class is a Recipe Box, with vellum recipe card holders.

Wish me Luck!

And if you have any sites for me to check out let me know!

san fran 07

Last Summer we went to California- my home state

We decided to hit San Francisco on the way home
None of us had ever been, so it was a new adventure for everyone
Well, i am in LOVE with this place! I can see myself living there one day, and then i'll move to my ranch in Montana to recover from the city.
If you have never been- might i suggest it!

A sign we have no idea about- we used it as a stop sign???

things you might never see
the main park, where you see Alcatraz
cool bench in town w/ 3 of 4
seals in the bay

We ate at the ghiradelli chocolate factory, roamed the pier, went to fishermans wharf & stopped in all the little shops for treasures! the kids all got SF shirts, chastin got a bobble head to add to his collection, al got a ski hat to add to his collection of them, jordan found a charm for her bracelet, and shilo was happy to find a stuffed animal to her liking.

John & I can't wait to get back there ...
So i think i'll stop working on this and plan us a weekend getaway...maybe for our anniversary?

the confident cut

jordan has wanted her hair cut for a while and today we were able to get it done {not by me this time- but by one of the way cool dads i work for}
last weekend jordan asked me how i can feel confident with changing my hair color & cut all the time
to be honest, she took me by surprise because confident would not be a word i would use to describe myself...not ever
so i told her if she had confidence in her self, others would follow suit, and to do what she feels is best for her
the before

and after

so she followed my advice and didn't worry about kids at school and what they thought... and i am very proud of her.. { plus i think she might have come up with this hair cut on her own}

from the back
so i thought i would post her new do - normally she will spike it up in the back for depth, but i took this right before bed, and she had already showered

i love my life

and i LOVE my husband
happy valentines day to my sweet heart
torrie-
i'm not looking for love
for now, something more
a friend and companion
to flirt with adore
not by destiny or chance
are relationships formed
but through laughter and fun
two hearts can be warmed
seeing you from a distance
be it great, or very near
my heart races so fast
excitement or fear
a beautiful girl
just happend along
coincidence? chance?
we build something strong
a jump start of my heart
has just been received
-john
